The much-coveted Eid release date next year is a big one, with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees slated to release along with Salman Khan starrer Sultan. This is being called a "massive clash" by many, given their star power, and an unusual event. Usually, according to convention, the Eid release is a Salman Khan affair while Shah Rukh's films usually release around Diwali.

However, Shah Rukh himself is largely unfazed by the hoopla around this development, according to a Hindustan Times interview. “There is no issue... Let them also release. It’s very simple: their distribution and production offices feel their film should release on Eid, while my distribution office feels that ours is designed for Eid. So, we both have decided [on the same date], but there’s no clash the way it’s being made out to be,” he told HT.
Explaining that with approximately 300 Hindi films releasing a year, there are bound to be clashes. "The idea is to do our best and wish the other person also the very best,” he was quoted as saying.
