Former CEO of NewsX, Indrani Mukerjea, who is accused of being an accomplice in the murder of her sister Sheena Bora, may have been her mother. The Telegraph, citing Indrani's relatives, reported that Indrani had two children from before she married Peter Mukerjea. Both were raised by Indrani's parents in Guwahati.

NDTV spoke to Peter, who said he always thought Bora was Indrani's sister until Wednesday morning. He added that he'd "heard" that Indrani was Sheena's mother in the past but had "dismissed it as a figment of somebody's imagination." Now, he told NDTV, he was hearing the same thing from "more credible sources."

Indrani, who is married to former Star India CEO, Peter Mukerjea, was arrested along with her driver on Tuesday. The driver, Shyam Rai, confessed to the Mumbai police that Indrani plotted her daughter's murder.

"We have arrested two accused (Indrani Mukerjea and her driver) under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 34 (criminal conspiracy)," a Mumbai police spokesperson told ANI.

Sheena Oberoi, was found dead in 2012, when Raigad police had found the remains of Indrani's sister, following which a murder case was registered against 'unidentified persons.'

"The two have been arrested and charged under sections 302 (murder), 201 (disposing evidence or giving false statements), 363 (kidnapping) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. We are still talking to her," the police spokersperson added.

Sheena's last Facebook post was in December 2011 and she was not seen since. When friends were asked about Sheena's whereabouts, they said, they were told that she was abroad for some treatment. After her studies, Sheena used to work with a Reliance Group company.
