Shikha Monga, a resident of Panchkula town in Haryana, was 19 years old when she won a Coca-Cola contest that promised a romantic dinner with Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan.

It's been 15 years, but that date never happened.

Monga, who is 34 years now dragged Coca Cola to Chandigarh district court, hoping to get justice. 12 years later, the court has put the soft drink major on notice as Monga seeks Rs 2.5 crore in damages.

The court also exempted her from paying Rs 2.43 lakh as court fee for the suit.

When the matter came up for hearing on Tuesday, Coca-Cola sought more time to file its reply. The case was adjourned for August 24.

When the Coca Cola contest was announced in 2000, as a promotional programme when Hrithik’s superhit film, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, was released, Monga was overjoyed.

She was a student of Government College for Girls, Chandigarh then and spent all her pocket money buying Coke bottles, hoping to win the first prize. And, she did.

However, when she approached the Cola's marketing office in Chandigarh, she was given five lakh rupees instead of the promised date. She insisted on the promised dinner date.

When the company did not even respond to her letter, she was forced to move court in 2003.

"Everybody in college, friends and relatives used to ask me about my dinner with Hrithik. I lost my reputation and was labelled a liar," Monga said in her submitted suit.
