As the country celebrates its 69th Independence Day, social media has found a novel way of paying tribute to the Armed Forces--tweeting selfies with the hashtag #SaluteSelfie.

The hashtag is aimed to thank our troops to let them know that the country is thinking about them on this day.

The first selfie was posted by Amitabh Bachchan.
