From a space scientist to a Bharat Ratna awardee and eventually India's 11th President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam led an illustrious life.

He was loved by politicians across the party divide and was the first person to occupy Rashtrapati Bhawan who could truly be called the 'People's President'.
