OnePlus 2 With 5.5'' Display Launched In India For Rs 22,999

One of the most anticipated gadget launch of the year is here. Chinese technology startup OnePlus has launched its flagship OnePlus 2, the spiritual successor of its hugely successful Oneplus One. The 64GB OnePlus 2 will go on sale in India from August 11 for Rs 24,999 exclusively on Amazon. The 16GB OnePlus 2 with 3GB LPPDR4 RAM will be available later this year priced at Rs 22,999.

After the success of OnePlus One, which already has cult status among smartphone enthusiasts, the much awaited OnePlus 2 was launched at a virtual reality event.

Sales of the #OnePlus2 start in the US, Canada, India, EU, and China on August 11! It will roll out in Southeast Asia in Q4 of 2015.

      Among the many defining features of the OnePlus 2 is its fingerprint scanner. Users can now unlock the device with one of five stored fingerprints in less than half a second. The OnePlus 2 will ship with the company's proprietary operating system, OxygenOS, based on Android 5.

      Subtle customizations like on screen gestures, dark mode, the ability to switch between hardware and capacitive buttons and toggle quick settings are baked in throughout the OS.

      The camera

      The improved, wide-angle 5 megapixel front-facing camera of the OnePlus 2 has an advanced Optical Image Stabilization system.

      The new phone has the OnePlus’ signature Sandstone Black, but a range of covers are available including the wood-built Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood and Kevlar. The OnePlus range of phones are reputed for its stand-out back covers.

      How to get your hands on one

      Customers can visit pop-up experience centers in Delhi and Bangalore on July 31st to sign up for an invite and be one of the first in the world to see the OnePlus 2. Users can also tune in to OnePlus India’ social media channels starting August 1st for a chance to get an invite, according to a OnePlus press statement.
