Watch out Anirban Lahiri! This 10-year-old’s teed off to a great start and shows no signs of missing the ball. Shubham Jaglan has won his second successive title at the UJGA World Stars of Junior Golf event in Las Vegas, worthily following up his Junior World Gold Championships win in San Diego last week.

The young Indian golfer who hails from humble origins -- his father is a milkman from the village Isra, Haryana-- is ecstatic about his score. He achieved a score of 106 in three rounds, five strokes ahead of two Americans, Justin Dang and Sihan Sandhu as well as Thailand’s Pongsapak Laopakdee, in the 9-10 years boys category at Angel Park.

Jaglan still managed to stay grounded, thanking his family, coach (former golfer Nonita Lall Qureshi), golf club and school, while maintaining he expected no shortcuts. “My dad says the day I fly, I die. I don’t want to die. I want to stay grounded,” the young prodigy said in an interview, also adding this achievement was a dream come true. “"It was all because of my family's support, my coach, my school which helped me in the US and my golf club DGC for giving me all facilities for playing."

His parents were also delighted with the news. Jaglan's mother, Anjala Jaglan, in an interview with ANI, thanked her son's coach for his performance. "I am very happy that he has come first for the second time, there is one more tournament coming up...I wish that he keeps working hard and winning tournaments. I spoke to him after victory he was happy," she said.
