Just days after a woman in Delhi alleged that a 'psychotic' TaxiForSure cabbie was masturbating while driver her to her destination, a similar incident seems to have happened to another woman from Kolkata.

Uber cab driver Pintu Yadav, who was allegedly masturbating while driving a 25-year-old woman passenger, was arrested in Kolkata on Monday after he was kept under watch for days.

According to the police, the woman hired a taxi from Elgin Road to Netaji Nagar on July 8 at about 7 pm. In her complaint, the woman said she noticed that the driver was "masturbating with one hand and driving with the other".

The woman alleged that the driver deliberately took a detour instead of a shorter route and threatened her when she protested, reports Hindustan Times.

The police has pressed charges under Section 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) and Section 509 (word or gesture intended to insult modesty of a woman) of the IPC against the driver.

The company has issued a statement saying that they have suspended the driver.

"In this case, we immediately connected with our rider, suspended the driver partner and assisted the local authorities with all necessary information required for their investigation. In fact, the rider was satisfied with our immediate assistance and action and continues to frequently use Uber post this alleged incident," said Karun Arya, the Uber spokesperson.

The spokesperson also clarified that the driver had cleared the background check before being appointed by the company.

Uber has been involved in a series of incidents including the rape of a woman last year in Delhi.

Following that incident, in May this year, a woman customer had alleged that one of its drivers tried to sexually assault her in Gurgaon.
