PHOTOS: 50-Year-Old Milind Soman Completes The Tough 'Ironman Triathlon' Under 16 Hours

Model-turned-actor Milind Soman, who turns 50 this year, has added another feather to his already crowded cap. The long distance runner has completed the Ironman Triathlon -- a challenging event that involves a 3.8-kilometre swim, 180.2-kilometre bike ride and 42.2-kilometre run -- in Zurich, Switzerland on July 19.

The triathlon hosted over 2,000 participants this year, including seven Indian participants. The event was organised by the World Triathlon Corporation.

To win the Ironman title, participants were required to complete the race in under 16 hours - Soman who took part in the race for the first time, completed it in 15 hours and 19 minutes.

The fitness buff (Soman has also been a national swimmer, and is the face of Pinkathon - India's biggest all-women marathon) has been training hard for several months to accomplish this feat. He posted some photos of his training on his Facebook page.

After winning the title, he posted a touching message on Facebook, thanking his well-wishers and said that the event was a beautiful experience:
