Chennai Road Caves In, Yet Again, Due To Ongoing Metro Construction

A Sinkhole Just Opened Up In The Middle Of A Busy Chennai Road

A road caved in on Friday due to metro construction work that is underway near General Hospital in Chennai, ANI reported. Worryingly, this is not a one-off incident in the city, where a spate of such cave-ins have been reported due to ongoing metro construction.

The road near General Hospital caved in on Friday.

Last month, a large portion of the Poonamallee High Road caved in due to ongoing tunnelling work for the metro.

At least two such road cave-ins leaving gaping holes were reported last year in Chennai due to metro construction.
