Digital discount coupon marketplace CouponDunia is now extending its technology for brick-and-mortar retail.

The company has launched a new app which will push live discount coupons to your device when you are near a mall or a store. CouponDunia has tied up with over 200 brands — including Arrow, Sketchers, CalvinKlein, Marks and Spencers — and will list over 15,000 outlets in the app. Users can also go to the revamped website and get discount codes at locations of their choice.

"The app uses GPS in your phone to get your location, so its pretty accurate," Sameer Parwani, founder of the company, told HuffPost India. Parwani said that CouponDunia's app has been downloaded 2 million times. The website gets over 4 million visits every month.

The four-year old company provides online discounts for e-commerce brands and restaurants. Presently, the new app can be used in six cities, viz., Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Ahmedabad, with plans to expand in Kolkata and Hyderabad in the next couple of months.

"We need to have large enough restaurant and retail offers to start operations in a city," said Parwani.

Other firms such as Groupon have similar coupons but focus more on spas and restaurants. "We are the first to rollout this feature on such a wide scale," he said.
