NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Netherlands counterpart Mark Rutte greeted each other on Friday in a unique manner on social media.

While Modi welcomed Rutte, who is currently visiting India, in Dutch, the latter responded in Hindi on Twitter.

Rutte also tweeted some pictures of the hockey World Cup match between the two nations in 1973, a statue of Mahatama Gandhi in Amsterdam and Holi celebrations in Hague.

Rutte, who will be in India on June 5 and 6, will hold talks with Modi on various issues. He is accompanied by Foreign Trade Minister Lilianne Ploumen and Agriculture Minister Sharon Dijksma, as also a large business delegation.
