WATCH: 'Wazir' Teaser Looks Expectedly Slick And Stylish

The New 'Wazir' Teaser Looks Expectedly Slick And Stylish

A new teaser for Bejoy Nambiar's upcoming film 'Wazir' was uploaded on Wednesday afternoon. The film, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, stars Farhan Akhtar, Amitabh Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and John Abraham.

Nambiar, whose previous films have been 'Shaitan' (2011) and 'David' (2013), has a penchant for stylish visuals, often incorporating techniques like slow-motion or manipulating frame-rates to achieve a desired effect. In 'Wazir', which features various shots of a chess-board as a recurring motif, the style is quite evident. It does, however, seem to have a much larger canvas than any of his previous films, especially since this is the 'starriest' cast he has ever worked with. Also, after his recent turn in 'Piku', our interest in watching Bachchan play a double amputee who is clearly obsessed with chess has soared considerably.

It's too early and the context is too bare-bones to make any sort of judgement about this teaser, except that it definitely seems to have done its job, as 'Wazir' became the top Twitter trend in India not too long after it was uploaded. Also, perhaps a bearded Neil Nitin Mukesh singing 'Lakdi ki kaathi' is... intended to be funny, for all we know?

'Wazir' is expected to release on October 2. Watch the teaser above.
