Google has launched a new feature on the Play Store that lets users pre-register for upcoming releases. The feature debuted last week with Terminator Genisys: Revolution, a third-person action game from Glu Mobile.
The pre-registration page allows publishers to post screenshots, videos and a description of the app or game. Hitting the pre-register button lets you subscribe to updates, however the Play Store is sparse on details of price, launch date, and the form factors it supports.
This feature is likely to prove useful for developers as it helps them gauge consumer demand, while end users get a heads up on when an app is ported to Google Play.
Android is the leading platform in terms of traffic and revenue generation, according to the Q1 2015 report from Opera Mediaworks. iOS devices still maintained the lead in terms of monetisation potential, with the iPad generating the highest revenue per impression.
