Anil Kapoor is earning himself some serious street cred amongst TV lovers. After appearing as a desi Jack Bauer (named Jai Singh Rathod) in the Indian adaptation of political thriller '24', the 58-year-old actor has now dubbed for the popular American animated series 'Family Guy'.
On Monday, the actor tweeted out pictures of himself dubbing at Fox TV's studio in Los Angeles, United States. In his tweet, he thanked Steve Callaghan, one of the executive producers of the 13-season-old show.
'Family Guy' is an adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane that was first aired in 1999. Over the years, it has become an integral part of American popular culture thanks to its twisted and often politically incorrect humour, as well as its sometimes surreal cutaway gags. In 2013, it was named as the ninth greatest TV cartoon show of all time by TV Guide.
In an interview to Bollywood Hungama, Kapoor said that while he couldn't reveal details about the character he was dubbing for, but said that his children are "crazy about the show". "They can't believe I am doing a voice in 'Family Guy'," he was quoted as saying. "My character will appear with the show's famous Griffin family. It is a new experience for me. And you know how much I like going into new experiences."
