NEW DELHI — Four Indian airforce aircraft have returned from Kathmandu carrying 540 Indians who were stranded in Nepal. Around 10 more flights are planned for today, said Vikas Swarup, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, which is leading India's relief efforts in Nepal.
The 10 flights today will carry "personnel and relief" to Nepal said Swarup.
Meanwhile around 300 personnel from the National Disaster Relief Force have already been flown from India to assist the Nepal Army in rescue operations. More than 45 tonnes of relief and five sniffer dogs have also been sent to Kathmandu
