Which is why this this guy has come up with a neat, super-quick solution to slice a watermelon without letting kitchen resemble a crime scene. All you need is your melon, a cutting board and a sharp knife.

Watch how he neatly slices the exterior of half a melon first with three neat swipes on either side:

Then, he proceeds to cut out an outline inside:

Finally he slices the whole thing into squares:
