For the thousands of 'strugglers' in Mumbai hoping to make it in the film industry, 'gyaan' or career advice (often unsolicited) is a perennial part of life.

But every now and then, the advice that actors receive crosses into 'WTF?!' territory. Actress Richa Chadda ('Gangs Of Wasseypur') has had her fair share of that and is now in the process of shooting a short film about her experiences, reports Mumbai Mirror.

When asked about the most bizarre piece of advice she ever received, she said, "I was told to date a cricketer so I'd be 'visible' in the media."

The video she's making, along with writer-comedian-lyricist Varun Grover and filmmaker Mrigdeep Singh Lamba ('Fukrey'), will feature similarly weird scenarios based on things that actresses in the industry are told. "They [people] tell you to do item numbers, dance at weddings and sign up for the 'right' kind of endorsements," she said.
