HTC has just taken the veils off the One M9 Plus smartphone today at a launch event in Beijing. The device is currently available in China.

The plus-sized smartphone takes a lot of design cues from its predecessor, and improves up on it with a 5.2-inch 2K resolution (1440x2560 pixels) display, duo cameras, and HTC BoomSound with Dolby surround sound.

The M9 Plus is powered by the MediaTek Helio X10 core processor, 3 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2840 mAh Li-Po battery. The phone is fitted with Duo Cameras, first seen in the One M8. The secondary sensor fitted on the back captures depth information, which provides an additional layer of information while editing photos.

The M9 plus also has an UltraPixel front-facing camera that features dynamic auto-exposure, which provides sharper, more balanced photos.

The One M9 Plus boots on Android 5.0 Lollipop, skinned with HTC Sense 7. The phone will retail in three colour options: gun metal grey, all-gold, and a combination of silver gold.
