Nikon 1 J5: Shoots 4K Videos, Photos At 20 FPS

Japanese camera manufacturer Nikon announced the release of the Nikon 1 J5 yesterday, which boasts the world’s shortest shooting lag time and world’s fastest continuous shooting with auto-focus.

Priced at $500, the J5 has a 20.8-megapixel VFI CMOS sensor, an EXPEED 5A image processor, ISO range of 1600 to 12,800. The J5 supports NFC and WiFi for syncing with smart devices on the go.

In continuous-shooting mode, the J1 can shoot up to 20 photos every second. The camera has a 3-inch flip-up LCD display which can be titled for taking selfies, the J5 can record 4k video at 15 fps, 1080p at 30/60 fps, and 720p at 120 fps.

Nikon hasn’t announced a release date yet, the standard kit ships with the 10-30mm power zoom lens and will be available in three colours - silver, black, and silver and white.
