According to a media report, the young model studied in Chandigarh till Class VIII, and then moved to Delhi for further education.

According to an interview one of her roommates gave to University Express, Arya has a "warm and welcoming personality". Her friend also said that Arya is a classic (if slightly clichéd) example of "beauty with brains".

The young model is currently working with Ernst and Young in Gurgaon.

  • She has been involved in street theatre

"Ever since I was a kid, I have been on a look out for platforms to get my voice heard. Be it business conferences, debates or street plays, I jumped into them all," Arya said in an interview.

Apart from Arya, Afreen Racheal Vaz was adjudged first runner-up, while Vartika Singh second, at the grand finale of 52nd fbb Femina Miss India, which took place on Saturday.

The event was judged by John Abraham, Manisha Koirala, Sonu Nigam, Anil Kapoor, Firoz Nadiadwala, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Shilpa Shetty, Sonali Bendre, Shiamak Davar and Chitrangada Singh.

Abraham said, "We judge the personality. It is not just about the looks, it is about the character, because a Miss India represents our country at Miss World. It is more about personality, more than just plain looks."
