Kolkata Musician Pays Tribute To Team India With Song 'Jitega India Next Time'

KOLKATA — Saluting India's journey in ICC World Cup till the semi-final stage, Kolkata l this evening dedicated the "Jitega India next time" theme song for the team of M S Dhoni.

"Instead of deriding the team members, instead of running down Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina, we should egg them on as they had won the hearts of millions of cricket lovers so far in the tournament. The lyrics talk about hope and turnaround in next world cup cricket," popular lyricist-singer-music composer Piloo Bhattacharya told PTI.

As hundreds of fans cheered every sixers and boundaries by Team India batters shown on the giant screen of a luxury hotel here, the crowd broke into applause before TV cameras as the live band crooned "India is the true winner."

The Hindi lyrics of the original song were penned by Rakesh Tripathi, while Piloo composed the Bengali numbers.
