JAMMU — Jammu and Kashmir deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Saturday said a combing operation was underway in Samba where an Army camp was attacked by terrorists earlier this morning.

"The movement of militants is not confirmed, combing operation is underway. Firing is going on. Let's wait for the reports. Our forces were on high alert since yesterday," Nirmal Singh told ANI.

According to reports, one civilian has died and another is said to be injured in the heavy exchange of firing between the terrorists and the security forces.

The terrorists, who failed to enter the camp, were reportedly hurling grenades inside the Army installation.

The Jammu-Pathankot highway has been sealed following the incident. This is the second such terror attack in the state in the past 24 hours.

Six people, including two militants, were killed yesterday when the Rajbagh police station in Kathua district was attacked yesterday.
