Mass Cheating: Parents Climb School Wall To Pass Chits To Class 10 Students In Bihar
ABP news/screen grab

A shocking episode of cheating, involving parents climbing school walls to pass notes to their children in the Hajipur district of Bihar, was carried out in broad daylight. TOI reported that similar instances of cheating played out at several centres in the state, where students are appearing for their Class X Board Exams.

But these students don't have to crane their necks, write answers on their arms, or hide notes in their clothes. TV channels showed bizarre images of parents scaling a school building and clinging to its walls. Local cops failed to stop these so many parents determined to pass chits, but around 500 students have reportedly been debarred.

NDTV reported that observers alleged policemen had accepted bribes to allow parents into the school building.

When asked about the cheating, TOI reported, State education minister PK Shahi, said, "Over 14 lakh students are taking the examination. You tell us what can the government do to stop cheating id parents and relatives are not ready to cooperate? Should the government give orders to shoot them?"

"The orders for conduct of free and fair exams have been given to district magistrates and police officials," he said. When the education minister was told that even cops were seen helping students, he said, "It may be that even their kin are taking the exams so they may be helping."
