JOHANNESBURG — Zimbabwe veteran batsman Brendan Taylor has revealed that he had made his decision to quit internationals long before the World Cup as the team was not heading in the right direction.

Taylor, who announced his retirement after scoring a splendid century against India during their last World Cup Pool B game, said that a switch to county cricket in England would benefit his kids and entire family, Sport24 reported.

Taylor's premature retirement at the age of 29 has once again drawn attention towards a crisis-laden Zimbabwe cricket.

Taylor accumulated 433 runs, second highest run getter at present, in the ongoing World Cup tournament.
