Everyone's a cook if you truly love eating. At least that seems to be the surmise behind the TV show launched by Bollywood's most successful director, Farah Khan — 'Farah Ki Dawat' — in which amateur celebrity chefs take a day off from acting and indulge their hidden talents in the kitchen.
Possibly the first Indian cooking show to not highlight professional chefs, 'Farah Ki Dawat' also reveals some of Bollywood's best kept kitchen secrets including the favourite dishes of some of Bollywood's well known stars. While Alia Bhatt, who does not know how to cook, whips up her favourite Thai Curry, Abhishek Bachchan (who is an excellent cook) serves up his Junior Dahi Chicken.
Malaika Arora Khan says she loves to cook because home-cooked meals are more nutritious than junk food. Khan dedicated an episode to her Honey Glazed Chicken Wings. Also on the menu is Boman Irani's Dhansak, Anu Malik's Coconut Fish Curry, a blueberry cheesecake by Sonu Sood, and finally self-confessed "terrible" cooks Ritesh and Genelia Deshmukh's Yakhni Pulau.
Also expected on the show are Shah Rukh Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Kapil Sharma and Karan Johar among others.
Foodie Khan gives out the recipes of her favourite easy-to-make dishes (she has been cooking since she was 17!) such as Lemon Pie and Tandoori Chicken, along with juicy B'town gossip — such as SRK's obsession with Gulab Jamuns.
Farah Ki Dawat is on the COLORS channel at 8:00pm every Sunday.
