JHANSI — A train was allegedly stopped by supporters of Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti at Jhansi station after the minister was late by a few minutes, even as the authority denied such any incident.

The alleged incident occurred on the intervening night of March 8 and March 9 at around 12.15 am when Gurudwara Express reached Jhansi station.

As the minister was late by few minutes her supporters allegedly pulled the chain to stop the train. The train could leave at 12.30 am, sources said.

When contacted Public Relation Officer of North Central Railway, Pavi Prakash said that he has no information about any such incident.

SK Agarwal, Divisional Railways Manager of Jhansi Divison told CNN-IBN that it was "a very common phenomenon". "Everyday 6-7 cases like this happens, I came to know that some video is there with RPF. I will go the control at 10 AM and see the whole video," he said.
