Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Seychelles, Mauritius and Sri Lanka from March 10 to 14 on his first visit abroad in 2015.

Prime Minister Modi will have bilateral discussions with President James Alexis Michel in Seychelles on March 11 to strengthen the maritime ties and enhance development cooperation.

The Prime Minister will have extensive meetings with Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth on March 11-12 in Mauritius to further enhance special and unique relations. Prime Minister Modi will also be the chief guest at the National Day celebrations.

Prime Minister Modi will have meetings with President Maithripala Sirisena and other senior leaders across the political spectrum in Sri Lanka on March 13-14.

This will provide opportunities to build on the close contacts at the highest political level and enhance mutual cooperation and understanding on major issues of common interest.

"The visit of the Prime Minister to our friendly maritime neighbours is reflective of India's desire to further strengthen our ties in the Indian Ocean region," said a release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.
