For the first time in the history of Twitter India - the Hindi word #जयहिन्द, written in the devanagiri script, made it to the top trends on the social media platform during India-Pakistan match on Sunday.

#जयहिन्द, which continued to trend on Monday , was dethroned by #हरहरमहादेव on Tuesday.

Interestingly, Hindi on Twitter seems to be catching on. Raheel Khursheed, head of news at Twitter India, sent out his #MahaShivratri message in Hindi today.

But Tweets with #जयहिन्द continued on Monday.
