Violating the ceasefire, Pakistani Rangers today opened fire at Tawi area in R S Pura sector of Jammu district.

"They (Pakistani side) fired three rounds of small arms at around 11 AM towards Tawi area in R S Pura sector. However, there was no retaliation from our side," a senior BSF officer told .

He said this was the second incident of ceasefire violation by the Pakistani side in the last 24 hours.

Pakistani rangers had fired two to three mortar shells in Nowapind border out post area along the IB in R S Pura sector of the district last night.

Pakistan Rangers opened fire at the R.S. Pura sector in Jammu district, targeting a Border Security Force (BSF) post on the international border.

A police officer told IANS here that the Rangers fired three rounds at 10.50 a.m., once again violating the 2003 ceasefire between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir border.

The BSF, whose 127 battalion was at the post, retaliated. No one was injured on the Indian side.

"The firing stopped immediately after the Rangers used small arms to target the BSF outpost," the officer said.
