Asus has launched the Fonepad 8, a voice-calling tablet in India at a price of Rs 13,999. The 8-inch tablet has two SIM slots, 3G phone functionality powered by an 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3530 1.33GHz processor. The tablet is fitted with a 8-inch 1280x800 IPS display and dual front speakers. It has 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras, 16GB of onboard storage, and a Micro SD slot that supports 64GB cards.

The Fonepad 8 has a 4000 mAh battery that the company claims can provide up to 12 hours of battery life when watching videos or web browsing, or up to 21 hours of 3G talk time. The tablet comes with ASUS ZenUI layered on top of Android 4.4, and is 8.9mm thick and weighs only 310 grams. The Fonepad 8 will be available from ASUS Exclusive stores and Flipkart in two colours - Black and Gold.
