The Government of Maharashtra has said that it that shall investigate Sanjay Dutt's 14-day furlough.

Last Wednesday, Dutt exited Yerwada Central Jail, Pune, after being granted yet another temporary leave of absence from his sentence, where he was also seen flaunting his abs to the public.

The actor, who was recently seen in RajKumar Hirani's 'PK' with Aamir Khan and Anoushka Sharma, was convicted in May 2013 for illegal possession of arms under the Arms Act, in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts. Dutt was sentenced to five years of which, he has served 18 months.

According to NDTV, the actor has spent over 118 days out of prison, between then and May 2014, either on furlough or parole. He was granted 28 days in October 2013 on medical grounds, subsequently followed by another month last December. Last January, further parole was granted to Dutt to tend to wife Manyata, who was supposed to go undergo surgery, which sparked a volley of protests.

As his most-recent temporary release raises questions, Dutt, according to Times of India has responded saying: "I didn't get any special treatment. I had applied for furlough five months back, then later it was sanctioned. Thanks for all your support."
