Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy is clearly having a bad day. Facebook accidentally deleted his official page instead of an account Swamy complained of parodying him, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Scroll News reported that the deleted is a fan page run by the ShankhNaad team, which Swamy has endorsed in the past by linking to it on his twitter account.

His page is up now, but to add insult to injury, people took to Twitter to have a laugh over the whole mess up. Firstpost cheekily suggested: "if the real account tweets things like this, can the followers be blamed for getting a little confused?"

Soon on Twitter I will start a quiz on Quran and empower democrats and patriots to understand Jihadi psychology. Necessary for Virat Hindu.

An angry Swamy had tweeted on December 14: “Desperate Congi and Aaptards seeing the huge knock out response of PTs have resorted to parody accounts. Facebook must act or face legal notice”.

Facebook responded by deleting his page ‘Dr Subramanian Swamy’ instead of the parody ‘Subramaniam Swamy,’ which uses an ‘m’ instead of ‘n’ in the first name. The page is still active with more than 23,000 followers.

The fake “Subramaniam Swamy" couldn't resist a few jibes.

Christmas has come early for these ‘Viraat Hindu’ satirists on Twitter.

Ha Ha! Subramaniam Swamy's real account gets deleted by Facebook instead of the parody account http://t.co/r7vKsPfGca

Subramaniam swamy's original page is so close to the parody page that even Facebook was fooled

Parody facebook page of Subramaniam Swamy has been disabled. One doesn't know if it was voluntary or forced by Swamy's threat. #FreesSpeech

Twitter and Facebook need basic lessons in TamBrahm culture. Its Always Subramanian not Subramaniam #Swamy

Thanks to Facebook, I now know that Subramaniam Swamy is a real man and not a parody *runs from trolls*
