Facebook has brought its users the perfect holiday cheer. Over 200 million people have said thanks on Facebook using a video feature it introduced in November 2014, the website announced on Wednesday.
Brazil has topped the list, while US and Mexico have the second and third highest rates of Say Thanks videos, a Facebook newsroom update said.
At its peak, 3.3 million Say Thanks videos were created per hour, the report said. In Brazil, people have not only used the tool to appreciate their significant other, but also to create multiple videos thanking friends, Facebook said.
Philippines, Thailand, Italy, Turkey, Argentina, India and the United Kingdom are the top 10 countries that used the feature extensively.
On November 25, Facebook executives Cameron Ewing and Nick Kwiatek announced the Say Thanks feature they said would allow users to “connect with the people and things that matter to them most”.
