It comes as no surprise to Salman Khan fans of course. Beyoncé Knowles has topped this year's Forbes Celebrity 100 List globally, but Khan beat his colleague Shah Rukh Khan to top the India ranking.
According to Firstpost, Shah Rukh Khan took the third spot while Amitabh Bachchan came in second.
IBN Live reasoned that Bachchan's position was valid, given his nearly 12 million Twitter following, which is possibly the largest in India for a Bollywood star.
The first 5 in this year's list account for 35 percent of the total revenues of the Top 100, however disappointingly only one woman made the top 10 cut: Deepika Padukone who superseded Katrina Kaif.
Author Dorothy Pormerantz from Forbes gave a detailed account of how they curated this year's Celebrity 100 through intricate compilations, collaborations, Factiva and social media.
