A visually impaired boy who wants to meet cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar showed off his batting and bowling skills at the World Cup for the blind and impressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi so much that he posted a tweet praising him and the entire team from his handle.

"The young hero began playing cricket in Ranchi at the age of eight. Watch out for this boy"- tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi late on Wednesday evening, according to Times of India.

Golu Kumar, who is visually impaired since birth, and his team won the Cricket World Cup for the Blind, hosted in South Africa. According to a report by News18, his dream is to "meet Sachin Tendulkar and with his tips, win the trophy again," a staunch refusal to let his lack of sight stop him from realising his passion for the game.

Author Dhritiman Ray of Times of India said the tournament has been recognised by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) since 1998, and all major cricketing nations including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, South Africa, Bangaldesh and the West Indies participate in it.

Designed especially for the visually impaired, blind cricket is aimed at unearthing cricketing talents among the visually impaired and encouraging them towards a better life.
